Ottawa, Ontario – Wellington Dupont Public Affairs (WD) is pleased to welcome Michel Breau as Associate Vice-President, Federal Government Relations. Fluently bilingual, Michel has over a decade of political and public policy experience.

Prior to joining WD, Michel served in senior roles supporting key federal cabinet ministers responsible for Canadian Heritage, Multiculturalism, Economic Development, Tourism, Official Languages, and – most recently, as the Director of Parliamentary Affairs and Issues Management for Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also has experience in the health sector, having spearheaded the Canadian Dental Association’s advocacy efforts in response to historic federal investments in dental care.

Michel’s experience includes guiding Canada’s response to foreign policy and international security challenges; steering parliamentary and legislative initiatives; developing emergency economic relief and recovery programs; the creation of new federal economic development agencies for Western Canada; and supporting major transformations of Canada’s cultural and heritage sector – including the passage of the Indigenous Languages Act.
Originally from small-town Nova Scotia and now based in Ottawa, Michel is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Economics and Political Science.
