
Sarah Hamilton is a seasoned public affairs professional based in Edmonton. She served on the Edmonton City Council from 2017 to 2025. In her time on City Council, she chaired and vice-chaired Community Public Services, Urban Planning Committee, City Manager Recruitment Committee, Council Services, Code of Conduct Sub-Committee, and City Manager-City Auditor Performance Evaluation Committee. Additionally, she served on Alberta Municipalities' Safe and Healthy Communities Committee, the Board of Directors of Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Premier’s Downtown Safety Task Force, River Valley Alliance, Reach Council for Safe Communities and the Edmonton Police Commission. She currently serves on the Board of the Art Gallery of Alberta. Sarah studied at the University of Alberta and has a Master of Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Before her career in elected office, she served as political staff in the Alberta government and as a political organizer. She has also served in various capacities in political campaigns at all orders of government and advised on communications and public affairs in health, resource development, arts and culture, innovation and community development.
